Adrian Legg

Following another stint in an Irish show band based in Dublin, Legg moved back to London and continued to gig in bands that played clubs and pubs and toured around and outside Britain. When one bandleader asked him to play acoustic guitar chords up against a microphone, he became fascinated with the notion of blending the tonality of an acoustic with the amplified power of the electric guitar.

Thus began an electro-acoustic quest that continues today to find the holy guitar grail that melds tone, technique and technology to allow him to create, perform and record the music his imagination envisions, eventually incorporating synthesizers and computerized MIDI programming to augment and enrich his one-man musicality. “I wanted something that had the harmonic content roughly like an acoustic, and that had the flexibility in terms of stringing and volume levels, whatever you wanted to do, of an electric,” he explains.

Starting to gig as a solo artist in the mid 1970s, Legg won a Guitar magazine solo acoustic competition in both the composition and performance categories, and began writing articles for that magazine and other guitar publications (and later Guitar Player in America), plus authored his first of a number of books, The All Round Gigster. He released his first of five albums in Britain in 1976. Soon after he began working for Rose Morris & Company’s musical instrument and equipment store on London’s legendary Denmark Street music business strip doing guitar repairs, quality control and manufacturer contact. That led to collaborations and consultations with numerous guitar makers and amplifier and pickup manufacturers and technicians over the years as well as guitar clinics and product demonstrations at musical instrument and equipment shows in Britain, Europe and later America and Japan. His compositions began being used by English radio and TV programs, and London’s Ballet Rambert also choreographed one of his songs as a dance piece.

With his 1990 American recording debut on Guitars & Other Cathedrals, Legg found even greater success across the pond as a regularly touring solo act, headlining and sharing bills with fellow guitarists Richard Thompson, David Lindley, Eric Johnson (whose 2005 album Bloom Legg plays on) and Joe Satriani (on both his own shows and as part of his G3 Tour package with Johnson and Steve Vai, whose Favored Nations record label released two Legg albums). Guitar Player named his records Guitar for Mortals and Mrs. Crowe’s Blue Waltz as Best Acoustic Album (1992 & ’93) and Wine, Women & Waltz as Best Overall Guitar Album (1994) in its annual readers’ polls. He has three instructional videos on the U.S. market (Beyond Acoustic Guitar, Fingerpicking & Open Tunings and How To Cheat At Guitar) as well as two books (Customizing Your Electric Guitar and a collection of his compositions in tablature and standard notation, Pickin’ and Squintin’). In addition to his commentaries for “All Things Considered,” the popular public radio news show regularly uses a number of his varied guitar interpretations of its theme music.

Throughout his career, he has earned the highest praise from the media. \”Legg is, above all, a guitarist of great power, invention and versatility,” observes the St. Petersburg Times. “Through fast-fingered picking, spontaneously layering parts and occasional ringing harmonics, he sounds like an orchestra.” Guitar Player heralds how he “combines a sublime melodic sense with a mighty right-hand groove, creating pretty music with rhythmically aggressive undercurrents,” while Acoustic Guitar notes that “the guitar is the most versatile instrument in the world, and nobody demonstrates this better than Adrian Legg.” But the Atlanta Journal-Constitution likely summed up his impact on listeners best when it exclaimed, \”Mr. Legg\’s compositions, with their narrative melodies and nakedly emotive tones, offer an antidote to the guitar-hero syndrome.”

Brian Bonds

Florida Georgia Line came out of nowhere in 2012 to become the biggest country group of the new decade. The vehicle of their success was ”Cruise” a slick, shimmering ode to the wide-open road that became an unkillable crossover hit in 2013 and, eventually, the biggest country single of all time. After ”Cruise” broke through on its own merits, reaching 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, its life was extended thanks to a remix featuring rapper Nelly. This unexpected collaboration pushed the single all the way to number four on the Hot 100, but at that point it was clear that the appeal of ”Cruise” lay in Florida Georgia Line\’s unabashedly polished pop perspective. Unlike some fellow contemporary country bros, the duo of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard didn’t swagger; they were bright, sunny, and friendly, qualities showcased on subsequent hits ”Get Your Shine On”, ”Round Here” and ”Stay”

Cameron “Roo” Mee

Chayce Beckham is one of the most buzzed about newcomers in country music today, having won over millions of hearts while competing on Season 19 of American Idol. From the first audition, superstar Katy Perry highlighted how Chayce’s gravely vocals sound like “the heart of America.” Armed with a determination to make something of himself and the unwavering support of his family, Chayce auditioned for the competition show after undergoing a particularly difficult year to ultimately become the first-ever show winner to claim the title with an original song—kickstarting his journey to fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a singer, songwriter and entertainer.

Following his first time onstage after performing in his fifth-grade talent show, the southern Californian began teaching himself guitar—eventually finding his way into a Reggae band (while earning his wages at a construction equipment rental company). Influenced by artists such as Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, and Kolton Moore & The Clever Few, and knowing that country music was where his heart called home, Chayce turned to Instagram as a creative outlet for his more intimate songs, sharing his original material.

With his family, his hometown of Apple Valley and now America behind him, the mellow 24-year-old with the alluring rasp recently released his debut song, “23.” The song is a semi-autobiographical account of his struggles with alcohol and of the lows it can take a person. After its May release, the song quickly earned the top spot on both the iTunes Country and all genre charts. Now signed to 19 Recordings in partnership with BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records and finding his home in Nashville, Chayce is ready to dig into new music and share his signature sound with his legions of fans.

Charlie Starr

”I think that this record does a really good job of conveying what we do and what we\’re about,” Blackberry Smoke singer-guitarist-songwriter Charlie Starr says of Holding All the Roses, the band’s fourth studio album and its first Rounder release. Indeed, Holding All the Roses compellingly captures the energy, attitude and honesty that have already helped to make Blackberry Smoke one of America’s hottest live rock ’n’ roll outfits, as well as a grass-roots phenomenon with a large and fiercely loyal fan base that reflects the band\’s tireless touring regimen and staunch blue-collar work ethic.

The 12-song set—produced by Brendan O\’Brien, whose previous production clients have included AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young—showcases the Atlanta-based quintet\’s emotion-charged mix of bluesy rock, gospel soul, and country, with Starr\’s raspy twang matched by his and Paul Jackson\’s snarling guitars, Brandon Still\’s hauntingly expressive organ and piano, and the propulsive sibling rhythm section of Richard and Brit Turner. The songs\’ musical and emotional appeal is further elevated by the band\’s three-part vocal harmonies and expanded arrangements that make judicious use of fiddle and added percussion.

Fred Brum

Fred Brum was studying to be a classical pianist when he was 15, and listened to Zakk Wylde for the first time. Months later, obsessing about getting those raw, visceral sounds out of a guitar himself, he picked up his first guitar, not knowing he’d be setting foot on a stage professionally one short year after and working as hired gun for many artists by the time he was 19.A very busy session musician , he favours 7-strings and other extended range guitars, such as 8-strings and 36-fret monsters to perform his work and has developed his style and approach around such instruments. Currently, he’s endorsed by Caparison Guitars, Bare Knuckle pickups, Laney Amplification, Randall Amplification, Matrix Guitar Amplification, Wampler pedals, AMT Electronics, Sik Pik / Hufschmid picks and Hesu cables.Fred is busy promoting his second solo album “Transcendence” (a follow up to 2011′s “Atonement”), amidst a heavy gigging and teaching schedule, and has been the lead guitarist for, among others, prog/goth metal band Ethereal.

In September 2020, Fredrik started the progressive rock/fusion band M3 alongside drummer Carl Williams and bass player Simon Hall. They are currently writing music for their first album.

Greg Foresman

Chautauqua is the 5th studio recording from Greg Foresman. The music in this collection continues Greg’s penchant for drawing on different musical styles to deliver one unique sound. Rock, Blues, Folk and maybe for the first time a little bit of a Country influence is heard. Commenting on his latest project, Greg said, all in all though, I think this is my most focused sounding record.

Greg was born in 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky, and by his early teens was consumed with playing the guitar and finding like-minded people to jam and form groups with. Playing at back yard parties and school dances by the time he was 14 and moving into nightclubs at 16, Greg started his life on the road at 18 years old fresh out of Central High School.

For the next 10 years, Greg’s musical career was relegated to playing mostly cover music in clubs throughout the Southwestern and Midwestern states; although with the help of his trusty Porta-Studio, he was always writing songs and working on ways of getting the songs down on tape properly. This period was highlighted by The Hammerheads, a hard-rocking, Southern funk group that tore up the I-65 circuit from 1988 to 1992. The Hammerheads released a self-titled Live CD in 1992.

After the break-up of The Hammerheads, Greg soon became an in-demand touring guitarist in Nashville, Tennessee (where he moved in 1988). He also began The Greg Foresman Band in 1993. This grand experiment as it’s now considered, pushed Greg to the center stage spotlight, a place on the stage where to say he wasn’t extremely comfortable would be an understatement.

The other is “Greg Wurth Audio” which is a pro audio hardware company with the first offering being an all discrete 16 ch. summing mixer called “The Oracle”.

“I grew up in southern San Diego. My parents were big fans of music and introduced me to The Beatles and Led Zeppelin early on. I used to collect cassettes & CD’s in the early 90’s and eventually I became interested enough to play an instrument, so I bought a guitar. I took lessons for a few years and had some bands but I realized that it wasn’t a natural thing for me. I eventually figured out that I was meant to Produce and Engineer music.”

Jack Gardiner

Jack Gardiner is a 26-year-old professional guitarist/teacher/musician born and raised in Liverpool, England. Coming from the city most famous for The Beatles, music has been a part of Jack’s life from very early on. His father (Roger Gardiner) has played the bass guitar for over 40 years. When Jack was a child, his father was watching a Dweezil Zappa VHS one night, with special guest Steve Vai on guitar. It was at that point, Jack said to his father ‘I want to be a guitarist like him!’.

At the age of 9, Jack started to take Classical Guitar lessons in school and at the age of 11, he took an interest in the Electric Guitar, studying for a year with Guitar Virtuoso John Wheatcroft (Guitar X, Guitar Techniques magazine). He performed his first few performances and gigs around the same time. It wasn’t until Jack reached the age of 15 that he started to take the guitar seriously. After finding a number of highly talented musicians through YouTube, Jack found huge inspiration in the playing of guitarists such as Tom Quayle, Rick Graham, Guthrie Govan, Martin Miller and Marco Sfogli. Jack began taking lessons from Tom Quayle soon after, which shaped his style and sound significantly.

In the years that followed, Jack has continued to grow and develop. Playing with various acts and artists, from Rap Music, to 60’s Funk, to straight ahead Guitar Fusion. He has recently toured with the likes of Stu Hamm (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale) and Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson, Frost) as well as the 80’s Brit-Pop Band China Crisis. His goal is to develop, grow and perform as a modern young musician with a modern approach in todays ever-changing music world.

Jack Pearson

Jack’s insightful understanding of various musical styles and the ability to properly perform each makes him a first class instructor. He has taught at countless guitar clinics and workshops over the years and is expanding as host of his own clinics. He sees the need for others to learn techniques and touches that appear to be dying; either they are no longer passed down or, in some cases, are not correctly understood so are passed down incorrectly. His future plans for online instruction will allow him to reach players around the world who can study at their own pace.

Over the years Jack has also honed his skills behind the board and has earned ample credits for producing, engineering, mixing and mastering projects for others in addition to his own. It’s no surprise that Jack is an extraordinary producer and the proof can be heard on any of his solo recordings, possessing the ability to take a good song and record it in very different styles – not a common skill these days. Jack has said, “I’ve always believed that you can play a good song in any groove or tempo. A truly good song has a life of its own and then it’s just a matter of interpretation and production.” He wants to expand this role and produce more for other artists; drawing from his deep well of talented friends would make for a first rate production for anyone.

Jack Pearson has released four CDs all of which have received praise from critics, colleagues and fans and he’s always working on new music – writing and recording. He plans to release part of his stockpile of recordings as downloads through his own website.

Guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, session-musician…many people in Nashville and beyond can claim those descriptors, but Jack Pearson is a truly gifted performer and an American musical treasure. “If you can only check out one player, make that player Jack Pearson!” Vintage Guitar Magazine.

Jake Owen

‘Instantly, when I started to work with these guys, I felt ‘Wow. They get it.‚’ They had the sound I’d been hearing in my head.’ So after two CDs, a big ACM award and a string of radio successes, Jake Owen has come into his own. He observes, ‘When you get a record deal, no one hands you a manual or an instruction booklet and tells you how you’re supposed to conduct your professional life. I was a kid straight out of college, thrown out on these massive stages. I really didn’t know anything. I had to find out who I am.’

His roots are fairly easy to describe. Jake Owen was raised in the coastal town of Vero Beach, FL. He and his fraternal twin Jarrod grew up in the sand and surf. Both boys attended Florida State. That’s where music became Jake Owen’s true focus. He suffered a severe shoulder injury while wake boarding. This ended his days on the university’s golf team. During his recuperation, his left arm was in a sling. Jake realized that even with his arm in a sling, he could hold a guitar so he started playing guitar and writing songs.

Jason T. Miller had little chance of making a career for himself in anything other than music, and this was clear from a very young age. In fact, it probably began at around eight-years-old, when he picked up the guitar for the first time.

Years after veteran TV/film composer and arranger, Bruce Miller, bought the instrument for his son, Jason, they’d find themselves frequent collaborators (as co-composers of many primetime network TV shows). Today, Bruce can add the role of proud father to his list of credits, as Jason has established himself as a dynamic, versatile, independent behind-the-scenes force in the music industry.

Nate Sapian

Nate has developed his signature sound through a lifelong connection with music from around the world. His parents raised him on a balanced musical diet of Middle Eastern, Americana, Latin and Irish Folk music that proved a gateway to his wide appreciation of different genres. His guitar-playing genesis was shaped by the classics: AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. This foundation is paired with a love of storytelling through songs that has been influenced by Jack White, Robben Ford, Jimmy Webb, Ray Charles and the famous troubadours of our lifetime.

As a guitar teacher and sideman, Nate has covered a vast territory of musical styles but wanted to explore his own capacity as an original musician. Over a 6-week European sojourn with his muse, songs began emerging that would eventually become his debut release, Stereosmith. Phil Short

Phil started playing classical guitar at the age of 9. He received his first electric guitar for his 11th birthday, and by the time he was 14, was already playing in bands and gigging. At 16, Phil did his first live TV performance for the midlands regional BBC Children in Need programme with his pop punk band Forgotten. Phil moved to London aged 19 to study at BIMM London (formerly Tech Music Schools) for 3 years under the tuition and guidance of John Wheatcroft (Head of Guitar/Guitar Techniques magazine) and Jim Clark (Deputy Head of Guitar/Guitar Techniques magazine/Guitarist magazine), graduating with a BMus (Hons).

Since moving to London, Phil in his professional career has gone on to perform, record and tour as a session musician with a number of artists, most notably Chipmunk and Tyler James. Phil’s session career has seen him work at Maida Vale studios, perform on live television such as Channel 4, and play at major UK festivals such as BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and the Isle of Wight festival. His radio work includes BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, Capital (as part of the Global Radio network), and regional radio all over the UK. Beyond his industry work Phil has been involved in numerous live albums in the contemporary Christian music scene, recording and playing with American songwriter Devon Kauflin and UK based gospel singer, Mark Beswick. Phil’s most recent and prestigious achievement was to win the international Guitar Idol competition in 2016, earning him recognition as one of the UK’s best up-and-coming guitar players.

Phil’s musical inspiration is diverse. Having grown up on a diet of Queen and Pink Floyd in his early years, he then discovered 90s/00s Nu Metal and a hunger for heavy music begun. Listening to bands in the melodic death metal genre like In Flames and Arch Enemy, a craving for melody and lead guitar playing was kindled. It wasn’t until the age of 17 that a school friend introduced Phil to the music of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert and Dream Theater. This was Phil’s main musical diet until the age of 19 when, through his studies at BIMM, he discovered jazz, funk, blues and soul for the first time, and came across guitar players like Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe and Richie Kotzen, who combined a hard rock style with jazz, blues and fusion influences. Phil now enjoys a much wider variety of musical genres, particularly groove and funk, which all add to his chosen style of playing and composition.
