We’re excited to share some big news with you today at Wampler! Our bestselling Terraform Multi Modulation and Metaverse Multi Delay pedals are now taking on a whole new life in the digital world. We’re releasing updated versions of the Metaverse plugin, alongside a brand-new Terraform plugin, and both are available NOW!

These pedals were a huge leap for us when they first came out. The Terraform, first shown in 2018, introduced us to the world of MIDI-controlled DSP pedals, and it quickly became a favorite among players worldwide. Then in 2022, we added the Metaverse to the lineup, bringing even more innovative sound possibilities to your pedalboards. Both pedals allowed us to do something truly groundbreaking: develop software versions using the same code we wrote for the hardware. The results were amazing, but we’ve been working behind the scenes to take it even further.

Today, we’re proud to introduce the next evolution. With version 1.1 of the Metaverse plugin and the all-new Terraform plugin, we’re opening up even more creative possibilities for musicians and producers. And here’s the best part – if you’ve purchased either of these pedals, the plugins are completely free. All you need to do is register your product warranty online, and you’ll be able to download these digital versions at no extra cost.

What’s New?

Based on the incredible feedback from our community, we’ve made some key improvements. One of the most significant changes is that there’s no longer a need for separate plugins for each algorithm. Now, you can access everything from a single plugin! Both the Metaverse and Terraform plugins feature a streamlined interface, allowing you to easily select your desired effect either from a drop-down menu or a rotary selector in the new Pedal Mode.

In Pedal Mode, the plugin mimics the hardware pedal experience, complete with a rotary selector, tap tempo functionality, and lighting LEDs, making it feel just like using the real pedal. For those of you who love interacting with your gear in this way, this will feel like home. Of course, the software version offers additional usability features, but if you know how to use the hardware, you’ll be able to jump right into your DAW and start crafting incredible sounds.

Compatibility with Pro Tools and More

Another major update: we’ve added .AAX compatibility, meaning these plugins are now fully ready to be used with Pro Tools. This is a huge leap for us in terms of compatibility, and we’re thrilled to see how these tools perform in the hands of some of the best producers out there. Be sure to check out the upcoming demos from Warren Huart, Joe Carrell, and Matt Weiss over at Produce Like A Pro. These are some of the top names in the DAW studio space, and we can’t wait for you to hear what they do with these plugins on a wide range of instruments.

A Unified Experience

Both plugins share a cohesive design and offer two selectable modes—Rack Mode and Pedal Mode—which you can switch between via the options menu. In Rack Mode, you get a more compact interface, while Pedal Mode gives you the tactile, hands-on feel of the actual pedal. You can easily scroll through the 11 different delays in the Metaverse or the 11 modulation effects in the Terraform to find the perfect fit for your song. You’ll also have the option to sync the effects to the tempo of your session or manually set the tempo using the tap function, with additional subdivisions available for more creative possibilities.

The Metaverse features 11 hand-picked delay algorithms designed by Brian Wampler. Here’s a quick look at what you’ll get:

  • ANLG: Classic analog delay, inspired by iconic units from the 1980s
  • WET: Modulated analog delay for a rich, textured sound.
  • BBD: Bucket Brigade Delay, reminiscent of the warm tones from Electro-Harmonix units of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
  • JET: Analog delay with a flanger, for a unique, swirling effect.
  • DOC: The Doctor – ideal for adding modulation to vocals as well as other instruments.
  • FTE: Faux Tape Echo, capturing the essence of early tape delays with subtle modulation.
  • ETH: Ethereal delay – the classic Wampler delay offering extra subdivisions for layered, atmospheric effects.
  • MOD: A digital delay paired with a flanger for a clean, modern sound.
  • SPC: Space Echo-style delay for lush, ambient textures.
  • TAPE: Classic mechanical / tape delay sounds inspired by the Echoplex and Echorec.

The Terraform is like a Swiss Army knife of modulation effects. Here’s what it includes:

  • A.WAH and ENVE: Autowah and envelope filter, perfect for adding movement and funk to your tracks.
  • FLNG: A rich, classic flanger that nails the vintage sound.
  • PHAS: A warm, early-‘70s-style phaser, perfect for guitar or other instruments.
  • U.VIB: A deep, lush Univibe-style modulation.
  • RTRY: A Leslie rotary speaker emulation with control over horn rates for a true spinning speaker effect.
  • SWEL: Auto swell for smooth, violin-like dynamics.
  • TREM and HARM: Classic tremolo and harmonic tremolo effects.
  • CHOR and DIME: Chorus and Dimension Chorus for lush, spatial sounds.

Get Creative with the New Metaverse and Terraform Plugins!

We’re thrilled to bring you these new tools, and we can’t wait to hear how you use them in your music. Whether you’re tweaking delays, experimenting with modulation, or syncing effects to your DAW’s tempo, the creative possibilities are endless.
