“This is my shot at the ultimate Klon-style overdrive…”
Introducing the Limited Edition Wampler Germanium Tumnus Deluxe. It's a Tumnus, it’s a deluxe, and it's loaded with the same style of hyper-rare germanium diodes as the elusive Klon Centaur and the sold-out Germanium Tumnus. This is my shot at the ultimate Klon-style overdrive.
You all sure love the Germanium Tumnus! It was almost sold out before it even shipped. Never fear if you missed your chance to get one, though. The Ltd. Germanium Tumnus Deluxe is the quintessential blend of that same authentic tone and added versatility. With a 3-band EQ, buffer bypass switch, controls for level and gain, and a hot switch for increased gain, you can think of it as an upgraded Germanium Tumnus, an even more versatile Klon, or a killer overdrive/boost pedal in its own right. However you see it—or use it—you'll love it. I only had so many of these "magic" diodes, so, like the first Germanium Tumnus, production is extremely limited. Assuming you haven't bought them up already, you'll want to act fast. When they're gone, they're gone.
Limited Edition, You Know the Drill!
I only have a limited supply of those vintage diodes, so this pedal won't be around long. If you're curious, move quick. You won't regret it.

Legendary Diodes, Iconic Tone
There are so many Klones out there that it’s hard to keep up. That’s just fine with me. My original Tumnus is still a favorite of guitarists around the world. That said, they’re nearly all missing the unique germanium diodes that powered Bill Finnegan’s classic design. Not so with the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe. I found an exceedingly rare stash of germanium diodes electronically identical to the ones Finnegan used. Thanks to them, the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe is as close as you can get to his ’90s icons.
That Tone With Any Rig, Every Time
The Germanium Tumnus Deluxe and the sold-out Germanium Tumnus are essentially the same circuits. The Deluxe’s 3-band EQ just gives you finer control without losing the pedal’s inherent character. Want to add a bit of low-end back into the mix? Need some extra cut and attack? How about boosting a crunchy amp with a tighter, more percussive sound? It’s all there, and it’s all authentic.
More Gain With the Flip of a Switch
The Germanium Tumnus Deluxe also features my “hot switch,” which introduces more output and drive than most Klones. That includes my my OG Tumnus. This style of pedal is already a quintessential clean boost and mid-gain overdrive. Now, it has a meaner side while retaining the classic vocal-like tone and throaty response you expect.
To Buffer or Not to Buffer
This style of overdrive pedal gives your tone more clarity and character. It’s often used as an always-on tonal sweetener but still adds some magic when bypassed. Still, there are plenty of us who want our pedals entirely out of the way when not in use. That’s why I gave the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe a side-mounted buffer-bypass toggle switch. Keep it on for a bit of sparkle, or flip it off for an unadulterated signal path. Your choice.

A lot of fun to hear the difference with the germanium. This is a stellar drive and a great take on a classic. Very happy to have the opportunity to play through this. I’ve never played a Klon-style pedal so this has been a lot of fun to incorporate!

I like to play my 2002 Les Paul Classic straight into the “Germnus”, straight into a ’68 reissue Deluxe Reverb. Neck pickup only. Volume at 4, tone at 4…. some of the most beautiful light overdrive blues sounds that Ive ever gotten out of a rig. I havent tried any other pedals in front of it yet because im just loving the exploration of what it can do on its own!
Caveat: I did have to return mine for a “sputtering” issue (started sounding like a fuzz with the voltage attenuatir turned down). That was with a power supply. The support team sent it back in less than a week and I played through it with a battery and there were no issues! So great job! Still would highly recommend getting even with such a quirk!

I am very please with the Germanium Tumnus Deluxe. I have all the Tumnus variants is this one is the best, even better than the Ge Mini. Being able to tailor the bass and mids helps adapt the pedal to any rig. The pedal has a fabulous sizzle like the mini. But dialing back the bass helps when using the Ge Deluxe to drive another OD. The volume and gain pot tapers are a bit different than my mini, which helps. My mini seemed to have more gain and volume on the pots early in the taper (9-10 o’clock). The Ge Deluxe has the same levels are 11-1. Great Job Wampler Team!

Absolutely blown away by this pedal. It’s honestly impossible to get a bad tone out of it. The three band EQ adds another level of tone shaping that the other 1:1 clones just don’t offer. Another banger from the fine folks at Wampler Pedals!

I bought this pedal to use live so I won’t have to take out my early KTR. This pedal is pretty dang close, probably as close as you can get to anything made by klon. I did a side by side with my ktr and the clipping is the same so big points for that. The only difference in tone is the midrange is slightly different and it doesn’t bring out some of the characteristics that my ktr has. I still prefer the ktr to it but at this point I’m being picky. It’s a fantastic option if you can’t get ahold of a ktr with the leftover centaur diodes. Good job Brian!

Hi guys, just wanted to say thank you for the fast shipment and all your efforts to please everyone and fulfil as many orders as possible as quickly as possible. The Tumnus yesterday finally arrived at my doors. The shipment from California to Germany took less time than it took the delivery company in Germany to deliver it just within Cologne. Just listened to the last episode of Chasing Tone and I really feel blessed that I successfully made it through all the madness and am one of the few owning this one-of-pedal. Looking forward to your next projects!
Now to the pedal. It totally kicks ass!
Cheers

Comparing the Tumnus Deluxe Ge to the original cease and desist Tumnus Deluxe. New is lower gain, more in line with the Mjolnir and Notaklon and the Klones. Gain-wise, that is. Older one sounds more modern like a slight scoop in the mids. Wasn’t expecting as much difference as there is. Both great but the little more gain the older one has on tap is nice. While the newer has more “bark” and note definition. Either is a great choice. With a boost in front it honestly covers most genres aside from the many derivations of metal. Great AC/DC tone on the hot side. Tolerances and I think my older one is a good 10 years old, may be what I am hearing more than anything. But, those diodes have already made me more confident and virile. I can finally stop taking Nugenix.

All I can say is SWEEEET! I’ve had a KTR on my board since 2015 but this will now replace it due to the increased versatility and sonic possibilities. The range of tone sculpting options allows me to fine tune it to my rig. It sounds soooo good near the beginning of my chain, either on its own or pushing other drive pedals. Nicely done Brian!
Obadiah Bobbleknob –
This is one of those pedals that’s great for modding. Just snip out those old funky germanium diodes and replace them with red LEDs and voila… a perfect sounding Metal Zone Klone.

Absolute kick ass pedal! Great job to Brian and everyone involved at Wampler, you guys truly make a great product.

All I can say is wow! I didn’t think my friedmen Wildwood small box could get any better, but this Wampler germanium tumnus deluxe is a lot of fun and sounds better than any of my previous overdrives. Thanks Brian Wampler you’re the man

Not many pedals that both sound awesome AND can crash a website!

I have the original. I had to have the Deluxe as well. It is that good.
Chris Brayden –
Another must have pedal from the tone wizards at Wampler! The additional of the eq really helps you dial in all the tones that are inside. I also love the ability to make it even a little more hot with the new toggle switch. Bravo!

Yo was!
